Hiring Practices Grades
We grade every employer A through F.
Audiology and hearing healthcare candidates deserve to know what they're walking into. We score every employer on five hiring dimensions — transparently, with the same rubric — so you can compare practices, manufacturers, retail chains, and health systems side by side.
What the grade measures
- 1
Pay Transparency
Does the employer publish salary ranges on every listing? Are reported salaries close to what was advertised?
- 2
Hiring Speed
How fast does the employer move — from application to first interview to offer?
- 3
Candidate Experience
Do candidates report respectful communication, timely updates, and clear feedback (positive or negative)?
- 4
Compensation Competitiveness
How does the employer's reported pay compare to BLS medians for the role and metro?
- 5
Workplace Reviews
What current and former employees say about culture, management, work-life, and sales pressure (where applicable).
The A–F scale
Excellent
Top quartile across all five dimensions. Pay-transparent, fast, respectful, competitive comp, strong reviews.
Above average
Above average. Some weak spots but generally a good place to work.
Average
Average. Meets industry norms but not differentiated.
Below average
Below average. Notable issues in 2+ dimensions.
Significant problems
Significant problems. Persistent transparency, communication, or compensation issues based on reported data.
How we compute the grade
Grades are computed monthly from a weighted blend of: (a) data we observe directly on the platform (whether job posts list salary ranges, how quickly posts close, etc.), (b) anonymous candidate-reported data (interview-process surveys, offer accepted/declined reasons), and (c) employer reviews submitted by current and former employees.
We require minimum sample thresholds before publishing a grade. Employers without enough data carry an Ungraded badge until thresholds are met.
For employers: how to improve your grade
- Publish salary ranges on every listing — single biggest lever for the Pay Transparency score.
- Respond to applicants within 7 days, even if only to decline. Silent rejections crater Candidate Experience.
- Claim your employer profile and respond to reviews — employers who engage transparently see grade improvements.
